The Tunnel

Finally, Jett has ventured into the tunnel.  Cullen's parents bought Jett a tunnel for Christmas.  He HATED it.  Once we found out he wouldn't go near it, we used it to keep him out of rooms.  We tried and tried to get him to like it, but he wanted no part of it.  While the big kids were here we decided to try it again.  Almost six months later he now will venture into the tunnel.  He doesn't want to hang out inside, but he will go after a ball or just crawl through it.

Memorial Day 2014

Now that my cousin, Rayanne, is living close we celebrated the holiday at her house.  The day was fun filled.  Ellie, mom, and I walked early that morning.  Ellie and I met Cullen and her parents on the trail and finished another mile and a half.  We then changed and went to the pool.  It was Jett's first pool adventure this year and he had a blast.  We spent the afternoon napping and then celebrated dinner with Rayanne and her extended family.  It was a great time spent with the ones we love.

Daisy Kent turns Two

Church with my Favorites

I have longed for these two to be near us this past year.  I have dreamed of matching outfits and fun times at church together.  So I didn't miss an opportunity for them to coordinate.
Cullen and I took these littles to church and were surprised at how well they adjusted to the nursery and Sunday School.  Ellie doesn't meet a stranger, and Jett and Henry played well together.

Intern

It seems odd that with only two years of experience under my belt in administration higher powers would give me an intern, but the stars aligned for me, and they did.  I knew all summer and first semester I would be gaining an intern second semester, but I kinda put that out of my mind.  As January rolled around I thought of ways to keep someone busy.  My intern, Haley, found plenty of ways to busy herself.  We raced from building to building, room to room observing.  We worked out schedules, talked through scenarios, and planned our lives with to do lists.  We shared an office, lunches, and responsibilities.  While driving to work Friday, I received this text.  I laughed out loud.  I am known for carrying about 5 bags in and out of school each day.  I can't seem to survive my day with any less.  I even downsized a computer bag, and yet I can't do it....I have to have a gazillion bags.  Teachers and students alike have made comments on my bags and the fact I'm usually racing in the door with my bags and heels on.  Yes, my feet hurt, but I can't do it.  I feel like a stump in flats.  I just love a wedge.  So getting this text Friday let me know that I may not have taught Haley, how to practice data based decision making each and every day.  I may not have modeled meticulous attention to time on task, but I have taught the gal how to pack and how to style.  You can take the girl out of teaching,  but you can't take the teacher out of the girl

The Princess Came to Visit

My sweet niece and nephew were in town the last week of May.  It had been since Labor Day when we last saw them. We have missed them so.  One of the things I picked up this year while they were gone was a princess cookbook.  So of course donned in her Snow White gown, we trekked to WalMart to get supplies.
We made Aerial's seashell pasta salad and Gus' Macaroni and Cheese.  The recipes were really good and did a great job adding in veggies.
Next on our bucket list was to make s'mores.  With Uncle Cullen's help we did just that and then we all enjoyed them inside.

Play Day with DD and Mamaw

Jett was able to be loved on by his Mamaw all week long while his sitter was sick.  On Thursday, Cullen's mom took off work and took him to the park in Oxford.  Our Pre-K was there that day too so he was able to have lots of friends to play with.

He slid, he ran, he climbed, he played, and he was doted on for sure.
Once he left the park he went to YaYa's and then played out in the country until I got off work.

He had a blast.  I know because he slept so well that night.
