I Could Have Hurt Him

Today I didn't have to be at school until 11:00, because we have parent teacher conferences. All weekend I have been making cakes this morning was no different. Today is Ms. Bridget's birthday. She is the teacher that works with me. So I decided instead of making a fourth cake today I would make cupcakes. I woke up at 6 this morning to make them. I made mini cupcakes and cupcakes, I left them cooling while I went upstairs to finish some shirts I was making for some friends. Cullen came upstairs got ready and told me bye before he left for work. I left something embroidering and came down stairs to ice the cupcakes. Just guess what I found....yep that's right...this...
Cullen had been in the cupcakes...I called him and he said oh...well I thought they were muffins...not true...some of them that were gone were iced already.... ooo...I could have hurt him.

Lunch is Served

Sometimes I am known to forget my lunch! Sometimes the cafeteria food
is not so appealing! Sometimes my teaching partner also feels the
same way... On those rare days Meagan comes to our rescue! Friday was
one of those days! She was in a hurry we were hungry so she just
dropped through the window! Thank the Lord for low windows and good
friends;)

Nashville Night

So Cullen and I made our first Ole Miss Away game trip. In my five years at Ole Miss I never went to an away game. I must say that I am not a huge sports fan...I go, I try to pay attention, but I will never be that girl, like my friend Joanne, that knows the players names, numbers, and positions. I just know you get four chances to go 10 yards. I did manage to go to the last three bowl games, but never made it to another SEC battlefield. Until.... this weekend. We had a great time listening to country...haha I should have said I had a great time listening....Cullen drove and gritted his teeth. We were able to tailgate with friends and enjoy watching the Rebels win on the road. Hotty Toddy Y'all!

Visit

On Saturday, October 26th, my great uncle came to visit. Uncle Lamar is my maternal grandfather's, baby brother. He has lived in New York City for the last 45 years and when he comes to visit it is like the President coming to town. He does not visit often and when he comes to town my mom has trained me that life as we know it stops to soak up his time with us. I have been to visit him twice in New York and hope to drop by and see him in December when I visit, but it is so neat to hear his perspective on life, the south, and family members I never got to know very well. I was able to dine with him four nights during his stay and was able to host him one night at my home. This very well may have been his last trip to Mississippi and I am so glad we were able to sit and chat.

A Day at the Fair

And so we went to the fair....part of Cullen's job is that we go to a lot of Ole Miss Events. Most of them are lots of fun. Two weeks ago we went to the MidSouth Fair to take part in Ole Miss Day. It was hot and lines were long. Good thing we didn't have to wait around for many things. We rode up to Desoto after church and were home before church Sunday night. Taylor Grocery catered the Ole Miss Dining Area which was WONDERFUL! We strolled through Ole Miss Alley and then headed toward the rides. I have never been one for the rides at fairs...Carnies Scare ME! Cullen, however decided to ride the FREAK OUT. I waited in line. In all my waiting I did take note of all the bright and wonderful colors of the fair. No wonder kids love it. Everything around you is a rainbow of colors.
