Double Decker 2026

One of my favorite weekends of the year. I love Double Decker in the morning.  Cullen and I took the bookends and headed to Oxford early.  We strolled through the booths and I had my heart set on an origina from Hi Yall!

We made our way to Blues Alley and heard a sweet little band

Met up for photos with Cecile and Molly at Lee Anderson’s booth, and got a print from her vending machine.

Pumpkins at St. Andrews

It's tough keeping traditions going sometimes.  Life gets busy, kids don't want to cooperate, and carving time out to do them, gets in the way.  I love this one.  I love the photos of my boys in these pumpkins each year and I laugh at how if snag one of Crausby we call it a good day, but Jett Boy had three trips his first year just to get a great one.  This year we stopped on the way to a family birthday party.  Craus, is not a fan of a photo, and Jett just wants to play.  Cullen couldn't color coordinate to a pumpkin if he tried, but when he walked downstairs in a red pullover and said is this okay, I smiled and said it was perfect, and was thankful he knows I love a tradition and was willing to go with us.

Let me tell you 'bout....

Y'all this lady pictured with me is top notch amazing.  She keeps everything going and the best part of life is... I get to call her friend.  There are days she knows just what I need.  She is the voice of LUES and our first line of defense in the office.

Lunn Party of Two

I had the great honor of directing my second Lunn wedding of 2019.  This one was so sweet.  I taught the groom and many of his groomsmen in preschool programs at our church.  The bride chose a sweet chapel in Union County to hold the ceremony.
I rushed from the wedding after we got everyone escorted out of the church to the reception venue so I could begin to paint and be ready for their first dance.

Crausby's First Football Game

Cullen's team was recognized as state champions during half time of the Crosstown Classic.  We normally never make it back to Oxford after piano lessons and getting Crausby from daycare.  We wanted to be there to see this, so we loaded up and headed back over to Oxford.

The Birthday Buddies.

Brett came into town to celebrate his birthday and Sadie's birthday.  We had a great time with cousins.  They enjoyed playing together and we finished the weekend with a birthday lunch in Ecru.

Jett's first Dove Hunt

I'm over protective.  I'll be the first to admit it.  I am not ashamed or scared or even sad about it.  So yes my southern child had never been dove hunting until this year.  I always told him when he was six he could go.   Bless him, he asked me if he could take my taser to shoot the birds with.  I told him his Daddy would have everything he needed to kill birds.  I was sent a photo of him holding a dead bird and almost threw up.  He had a blast.

Pardon Me

Pardon me while I stare at my half grown man child and wonder where his baby fat cheeks went and when did learn to flip his curls, and wonder why his legs are a mile long and he can't be carried around.

Lost Tooth #2

Jett Boy has had a bottom tooth hanging on for a while.  We tried string, we tried bath cloth removal and finally I got it with a surprise attack.  He was more scared that I had gotten it and he didn't know it.  The tooth fairy wrote him a note with invisible ink at my mom's and then when she got the tooth at our house the next night she gave him more money.

Dinner with Sadie

Soccer season brings us several nights alone, as Cullen is coaching. Some times it is one night others it is three nights in a row.  A lot of times my mom offers to take us to dinner to help with the boys.

Nine Month Check Up

Crausby had his nine month appointment.  He was standing ready when Dr. Dennis came in.  He weighed in at 22.13 lbs.  He was down a little from his last appointment, probably because he is moving around so much.  He says mama, dada, and uh-oh.  He babbles a lot especially when we are in the car.  He doesn't sleep through the night.  He wakes up at 12 and 2 and 4.  They say he naps at school.  He eats yogurt like a champ and loves sweets.  Veggies aren't really his thing.  He is pulling up and cruising around furniture.  He hasn't stepped away from the furniture just yet, but he walks behind a pull toy a lot.

Decking the Hall

Jett Boy was super excited to put our family tree up this year.  He took time to draw a plan out to let us know what happened first.  He fluffed the limbs and helped with the lights.  He also made sure to place non breakable ornaments for Crausby low on the tree.

Cousins in Madison.

We wanted to get to Madison one time before Christmas so we stopped by to help them get their tree up.

The Time has Come

It's no secret Cullen and I are possibly the worst parents at sleep training children.  I blame fatigue and nursing and having a 45 minute one way commute each day.  So when the baby was born Jett moved upstairs and he was in his room until it was time for me to go back to work and Cullen had to come back to our bed in an attempt that he would help with the baby like he did with Jett.  Jett moved to a cot at the foot of our bed.  He stayed there and acted like he liked it.  During Thanksgiving week, Cullen told Jett he was going upstairs.  So we put the monitor on him, gave him a night light and off he went.  He was so thankful to be able to stretch out he hasn't wanted to be back downstairs yet.  So each night they read a book and off to sleep he goes.  One child down, one child to go.

Thanksgiving

We sat 36 this year for Thanksgiving, so I didn't get many pictures of guests.  I went from serving to cleaning.  It was a full house and the food was abundant.

Mom and I have taken to eating lunch each year in the kitchen so we can be ready to begin serving desserts as soon as the first guest is ready.

Our Littlest Turkey

Time is flying by so quickly with this little guy.  He has a totally different childhood from his big brother.  With Jett we lived to post every week what was new.  This go round we are doing well to snap a picture.  He starts our days before 4 most mornings and he puts us to bed by 7:30 dog tired.
