Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day with an afternoon movie with Jett and dinner at Mt. Fuji.  Cullen was in need of some new Crossfit Shoes so we gifted him with those and we all enjoyed time together.
Prior to Sunday, Cullen and his Dad went to Alabama for him to complete a Barbarian Challenge.  I had a wedding but they spent a lot of time together.
Cullen came home a little beat up, but really excited he finished.
Apparently both my boys can't get their smiles in sync for photos but they love each other none the less.

#jordansinjune

Wedding #2 of 2016 was just as sweet as the first.  This time rather than our school secretary I was able to be a part of one of my fourth grade teacher's weddings.
In one of the sweetest ceremonies I've been a part of these two sweet souls became husband and wife.
The reception was just as fun as the wedding was sweet.

#JamaicanMeJames

It's been a long eleven months but I finally go Laticia down the aisle.  My sweet friend got engaged on her birthday last year and we have planned and created all types of things to make the day special.

Surrounded by sweet friends and a great group of witnesses Nacoma & Laticia became the James'

It was my first wedding of three to direct this year and I was happy to add them to my happy couples.

Nine Years

We celebrated our ninth anniversary on the 9th. We did nothing special to commemorate the event.  Jett and I picked out some new shorts for Cullen and brought them home to him.  That was the extent of the celebration.  Nine years, no frills.

Mamaw's Park

Cullen's soccer girls have summer scrimmages and to kill time between work and the games we took Jett to Avent's Park which he thinks is his great grandmother's personal playground.
It is so much fun to see how he has grown and has gotten so good and climbing and hanging on to things.  He is a tough kiddo for sure.

Summer Strolling

One good thing about living downtown is the proximity of our home to the two eateries in town.  We are able to walk to and from when the mood strikes.  This night DD and Papaw were in town before their trip to see Faren in Colorado and they strolled, too.

Hillbilly Half

Before the race I was certain it was going to be tough.  I had an uneasy feeling as we rode through Franklin, TN.  I thought the hills rolled a little more than I expected.
At the start of the race, I was uncertain why it was initially an uphill and the start of the race was the spinning out of the General Lee.  The hills began in mile one and somewhere between mile four and seven there was a 1200 ft elevation increase which almost killed me.  I'm not fast but I couldn't believe how the hills KILLED my time.

Cullen ran the 5k and had a pretty good time, but slower for him.  He met me with a peach and a chocolate milk.  I could have married him all over again.  Then we posed by the car. It was a tough tough race.  Mentally I struggled with the hills, I loved the downhills though.  The weather was great and the water stops which I had been concerned about were not a big issue. The atmosphere was fun and the other runners that talked to me mid run had actually done the race before.  I thought how strange because all I could think was how I was NOT going to do this one again.

National Running Day

I was able to celebrate National Running Day with these quirky pals.  We didn't go far but we got our steps in and we celebrated together.

Backyard Oasis

This is the makeup of my summer afternoons.  This kid in his backyard oasis.  He loves the water and he can't help but splash me even when he says he won't.  He is adorable and fun and always up for playing.
