Ringing in the NEW YEAR

I've spent no less than a half dozen New Year's Eves with this crew.  We may not have all been together but some of us have.  I love them with all my heart.  We are so lucky to have each other.  We have had a pretty trying couple of years, but we have survived them together.

Of course the older I get the less I get thrilled to actually make it to midnight.  I was pumped to ring in the fake new year with this little baby girl!  She loves to dress up and was decked in a black dress with beads.

Dr. Dye

We went for a check up at the ENT and everything looked great.  We will continue to put drops in his ears once a week but he is doing well.

Digging up Bones

My brother gave Jett Boy dinosaur excavating toys for Christmas.  Jett mentioned that he wanted to dig for dinosaur bones and Brett delivered.  Brett also gave Cullen this snazzy hat that has some kind of crazy back story but leave it to my brother to find unique gifts for all.

Christmas in Madison

We headed to Madison the day after Christmas to celebrate with my brother and his family.  Cullen was still recovering from fatigue from the flu so he stayed home.  Honestly we would have had no room to put him in the car, it was so loaded with gifts.
Jett Boy was fighting a cold or cough or something but managed to rally when needed to have fun with cousins.
Mom and Ellie used their skills on the fiddles.  Ellie started taking at school and my brother bought one to have so he could learn when she did.  She hasn't learned any scales or notes, but can make an absolutely beautiful sound when she puts the bow across the strings.

The boys had fun as usual.  Jett destroyed Henry's room looking for trains.  But they enjoyed making ramps outside and playing with remote control cars.
These sweet kiddos are growing before our eyes.  Later I will post about Brett injuring mom with the drone, but I have to get the picture evidence for it to be as hysterical to readers as it was to us.

Red Row Sunday

A tradition started many years ago by the women of pew 5 on the east side of the sanctuary was that those on the row would wear red on the Sunday closest to Christmas.  Many of us even though we moved to the choir or to other places in the church have continued wearing red.  This year with Christmas falling on a Sunday we decided to don our red and resume our pew for the service.  Here we are.  Sadly the ladies that began the tradition are no longer with us but we upheld the tradition in their absence and hope they enjoyed the view from their seat in Heaven.

Jett Boy and Daisy Kent

Jett's Gingerbread House

I have never been fond of gingerbread house making.  It is super difficult to get them to set up and look good.  I thought it would be fun to do one with Jett and no lie after I snapped this picture the house collapsed.

The Justice Nuptials

James and Bridget found out after an extended illness that she was expecting their first child.  So on the Wednesday before Christmas the two said I Do.  It was a wedding where the details were paramount.  In the Lafayette County Courthouse with family and friends near, the two became Mr. & Mrs.

I Have Seen the Light

Finally at the close of our Christmas Choir Cantata this trio sang their Christmas favorite, I Have Seen the Light.

Bo & Anna Grace's Wedding

Leading up to the wedding weekend, Jett caught Strep.  It was so sad to see him so sick.  Cullen did the rehearsal dinner by himself and I stayed an extra night with Jett Boy to make sure he was all better.  My mom volunteered to keep him on Saturday and I headed to Meridian for the festivities.

Bo has been a long time Auburn fan and the cookies were as good as they were cute.

Mid ceremony Megan leaned over and made the statement Cullen looked like a Ken doll. I told her it was only because his tux was clearly the smallest of all the groomsmen.

But later on I had a lot of fun scavenging the internet to find they gem of a comparison photo.  Happy Wedding Weekend from Ken and Felicia

Santa Came to Town

We had Jett's Christmas Party on the 10th.  I made Santa themed treats and had a blast fixing the house to get ready for our friends to come by.

The look on the girls' faces was priceless.  They were in awe.

Jett had to warm up to him.  He told me mid party he didn't really like parties and he really wanted to be all alone.

Jett was super shy during the singing of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

It was a day filled with love and friendships.
