Lyle Lovett

Just when I was about to bite the bullet and give Jett his first haircut, I thought to put product on his hair.  Voila!  Jett went from a Lyle Lovett do-whop curl to sweet soft little ringlets.

The Good Shepherd

My mom and I are on the flower committee at church.  Which means twice a year we are responsible for the flowers for the month.  We had March and Mom used the opportunity to teach Jett about the stained glass windows at church.  Jett was only interested in climbing the stairs to the window, but Mom gave her best effort to teach him.

Leprechaun Luncheon

On the Friday of Spring Break some of Jett's friends came over to play.  I enjoyed finding green foods and little things for them to enjoy.

I got to meet sweet Luke Wynne.  I loved his sweet smell and time to catch up with his sweet mama.

Jett ended his play date like this.  When you have to go you have to go.

Health Works

With only his big boy undies on we braved Health Works on day five of potty training.  We met Lily James there and they hit the ground running.
 They slid and slid.

And in between trips around to the slide Jett needed to potty five times.  I worked up a sweat toting him back and forth to the potty chair in the car, but he did it. I felt like we turned the corner this day, we were committed, and there was no turning back.

Taylor in the Spring

Date Night with these two friends and our beaus.  We secured a sitter for the first Sunday of Spring Break and headed to Taylor.  It was nice to get some adult conversation in with out trips to the potty, playing with trains, or toddler talk.

Potty Training Uh Oh

With the extra two days of Spring Break because of ice we decided to hard core start training Jett.  It didn't start out really well at all.  With us being serious it was not so much fun for our baby boy.

Five Months Out

It's been five months this past week since my Daddy passed.  This week marked my first snow days without him on this Earth to talk about it with.  From the onset of and early talks of snow my dad and I always would touch base to discuss what we thought would happen.  Daddy would read me the seven day forecast and then the weather channel updates.  He gave me driving tips and always would call as the first snowflakes fell in Ecru.
As I watched and waited on the weather to move in, I missed him.  As I watched Jett have a big time in the snow this week, I know Daddy would have braved slick roads to watch him if he had been here.
And this morning as I thought back over how much my Daddy like to get out and play in the snow, I thought about what his grave must have looked like covered in snow.  I worried and wondered if I should have driven by just to check, just to see.
Five months and I still catch myself reliving our final days together, our final moments.  I don't think about it all the time, I don't cry every week, but I am still sad.
